Commuter or Off-Road?
Choosing the Afari that’s right for you
The Mobella Team
Whichever Afari you choose, we’ve got one goal: to get you outside and keep you moving. We created two different models of the Afari as we want your Afari to be the best expression of you and how you want to use it. If you’re trying to decide between the Commuter or Off-Road, here are a few things to consider while selecting the Afari that’s right for you.
We've also created a short video that shows you to load your Afari onto a standard bike rack.
Things to keep in mind:
Where will you be using your Afari? Both the Afari Commuter and Afari Off-Road are designed to offer you increased stability and support while walking or running. If you plan on using your Afari for cruising around your neighborhood, strolling through city streets, or exploring wide pathways or trails, the Afari Commuter could be your pick. If you’re planning on using your Afari for activities like snowshoeing or beach days, the Afari Off-Road might be a better fit.
What types of terrain do you encounter most? The design of the Afari can easily handle almost any type of terrain you can think of: wood chips, gravel, loose soil, tree roots, grass, sand and snow. We recommend the Afari Commuter if you’ll be using it more frequently on firmer terrains like sidewalks or pathways. If you’ll be using your Afari more frequently on softer surfaces like sand or snow, then you may want to consider the Afari Off-Road as the wider tires provide extra grip.
What type of tires do you prefer? As one of our Afari users likes to say, the tires on the Afari Off-Road are “beefy!” And since you can’t really go wrong with either Afari when it comes to performance, your choice may simply come down to how you want your Afari to look. The Commuter tires are slightly sleeker if you prefer a more streamlined look, while the fat tires on the Afari Off-Road give off “outdoor adventurer” vibes.
